Mahmoud Emeira won multiple Egyptian national, African, and military titles in the heaviest wrestling weight classes during the 1970s. His first major international medals came at the 1971 Mediterranean Games in the +100kg category, where he was third in freestyle and second in Greco-Roman. Four years later, at the 1975 edition, he was second in freestyle and fifth in Greco-Roman. He was also selected to represent Egypt in three events across two editions of the Olympics, Greco-Roman in 1972 and both styles in 1976, but did not start in any of them. He retired from active competition after 1977.
