Biography

Mikhail Smirnov started his football career in Moskva (Moscow) playing as a forward for Bykovo (1907-09). He then transferred to SKS (1910-11) and eventually to Union (1912-14). With Union he placed second at the 1914 Moskva Championship and with Moskva also second at the 1912 Russian Empire Championship.

Smirnov played both matches of the Russian team at the 1912 Olympic Games, where the Russians lost both games. In 1912, he played two more games with the national team against Norway and Hungary.
