Biography

Lutz Hoffmann was a member of the silver medal winning East German men’s gymnastics team at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Individually, he finished sixth on floor and was seventh in all-around. His brother Ulf Hoffmann competed at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. In 1979 Lutz won his only national title on floor.

By profession, Lutz Hoffmann became a graduated sports teacher and gymnastics coach. After German re-unification, he worked as a sports teacher at a gymnasium at Bad Sascha, but in 1997, he committed suicide.
