Biography

Ulf Hoffmann was a member of the silver medal-winning East German men’s gymnastics team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Individually, he finished 29th but did not reach an apparatus final. He also won two team bronze medals at the 1985 and 1987 World Championships. Domestically, he won eight national titles. At the 1985 Europeans he won a bronze medal on the parallel bars.

In 1982, 1985, and 1988 Hoffmann won three individual national titles on the floor and horizontal bar. He later became a gymnastics coach and worked in France and Switzerland with his wife Simone. His brother Lutz Hoffmann competed at the 1980 Moskva Olympics.
