Biography

During Elemér Pászti’s long career, he competed in the colors of PSE, NTE and Ferencvárosi VSC, but he achieved his most significant titles as an athlete for BTC. In 1913, 1921-22, and 1925 he won a national all-around title and was a 12-time Hungarian champion in various apparatuses. He competed at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, where he finished 13th in the individual all-around and second in the team event. Pászti returned to the Olympics 16 years later, at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.

Pászti was a brother-in-law of Attila József, the famous Hungarian poet. In 1914 Pászti became a qualified public accountant. Until his retirement from sport he worked at the Pázmány Péter University of Sciences in various accounting positions.
