Biography

As an athlete of BTC, Vilmos Szűcs competed at the 1906 Intercalated Olympic Games. He was expected to be nominated for the 1908 and 1912 Olympics, but was not, for unknown reasons. In 1907, he won the eighth regional gymnastic meeting, which at that time was equivalent to a national championship. After his sporting career, he worked at his former club BTC as head of the gymnastic and swimming division, and he also wrote articles about gymnastics and swimming for the “Sportvilág” magazine. After his early death, memorial tournaments were organized in his honor.
