Biography

Hubert Erang’s father Mathias was a three-time Olympic gymnast who represented Luxembourg at the Games in 1924, 1928, and 1936. Hubert followed in his father’s footsteps and began gaining national attention for his talents after World War II. He first represented his country at the Olympics in 1952, where he was 18th with the Luxembourg team and had a best finish of joint-79th in the horse vault. Eight years later, he returned to the 1960 Games in Rome, where he was 17th with the team and had a best individual placing of joint-102nd in the horse vault (with Austria’s Gerhard Huber). By career, he was a tailor.
