Eugen Balint was born in Ineu (Borosjenő) in Arad County. He was a member of the AMEFA Arad team that won a gold medal at the 1948 Romanian National championships and finished third in parallel bars at the 1951 National Championships. In 1952, he was named to the Romanian Olympic men’s gymnastics team which finished 20th in Helsinki. He was a member of the Dinamo București and Astra Arad gymnastics teams.
