Clarence Lidington competed in four events at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. He competed in the individual all-around (90th); the individual all-around, apparatus work (108th); the individual all-around, field sports (=36th); and the team all-around, apparatus work and field sports (12th). Lidington represented the Socialer Turnverein in Detroit. He was a Canadian citizen in 1904, having been born in Toronto, and was still a Canadian in 1917 when he registered for the US Military Draft for World War I. At that time he worked as an electrician for the Detroit Edison Company.
