Biography

Herman Witzig competed for the Swiss Turnverein of Union City, New Jersey. He competed at the 1928 Olympics, placing seventh on the vault as his best finish. He was also on the 1932 Olympic team as an alternate, but did not compete. Witzig won an AAU title in 1930 on the parallel bars. He attended New York University and won multiple EIGL (Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics Leage) Championships for them, winning the all-around, parallel bars, and horizontal bars in 1930 and 1931. He added silver on the pommelled horse in 1930 and bronzes on the pommels and rings in 1931.
