Biography
Juan Pedro Miguel was born in Madrid but moved with his family to Elda when he was only 11. In Elda he studied at Sagrada Familia, where he began to play handball. The team lacked a goalkeeper so that became his position. He later played with Excursionista Center and, when he was 17, he was signed by Calpisa of Alicante. He later played for Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona and for Spain at the 1980 and 1984 Olympics.
