Biography

Goalie Renate Rudolph was on the bronze medal winning East German handball team at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. She also won a gold at the 1978 Worlds. She played 132 international matches with the GDR national team and scored 441 goals.

Domestically, Rudolph played with SC Leipzig and helped them win GDR Championships in 1970-73, 1975-76, and 1978 and the 1974 European Cup of Champions. She then moved to TSC Berlin and won GDR Championships again in 1979 and 1980, adding the 1979 European Cup Winners’ Cup.
