Biography

Willi Zacharias was a Romanian sportsman who competed at both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

At the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics Zacharias competed in two events. In Alpine skiing, Zacharias completed the downhill but did finish the slalom. Zacharias was also part of the Romanian cross-country skiing team that competed in the 4 × 10 kilometres relay. The team finished in 14th place.

Six months after the Winter Olympics Zacharias competed in the handball tournament at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The Romanian team finished in fifth place. In 1938 Zacharias was part of the Romanian handball squad that also finished in fifth place at the World Handball Championships in Germany.
