Handball goalkeeper Tatjana Dschandschgawa was born in Kazakhstan, then part of the Soviet Union, who she represented at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and won the bronze medal. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Dschandschgawa represented the Unified Team in 1992 and again won bronze. Dschandschgawa then moved to Austria and placed fifth with them at the 2000 Sydney Games.
In 1982 and 1986 Dschandschgawa won gold medals with the Soviet Union at the World Championships and in 1999 a bronze medal with Austria. She also won bronze with Austria at the 1996 Europeans.
On club level Dschandschgawa played with HC Kuban Krasnodar (1981-90)and Hypo Niederösterreich (1992-2001). She helped Niederösterreich win the EHF Champions League in 1994-95, 1998, and 2000.
