Luis Pechenino had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1951 Pan American Games coxless fours (with Juan Carlos Gómez and the non-Olympians Juan Alchino and Osvaldo Maia), 1st in the 1955 Pan American Games coxless fours (with Juan Carlos Gómez and the non-Olympians Guido Mazzotta and Rubén Cossettini).
