Biography

Uwe Dühring rowed on the gold medal-winning East German eights at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. In 1978 he won both the East German and world titles with the eights. The World Championship crew was named Sports Team of the Year for that year. In 1972 and 1973 he won gold medals at the Youth World Championships with the eights and the coxed fours respectively. Dühring later became an employee at his home club SC Dynamo Berlin, and after re-unification worked at a public housing company.
