Biography

German rower Wolfgang Goedecke was eliminated with the coxless fours in the quarter-finals at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. With the same boat of Dresdener RV he came in second at the 1927 German Championships, and the boat was third one year later. Goedecke was killed-in-action during World War II in 1942, only 500 m away from the runway of the airport Vyasma, dying with the rank of senior lieutenant.
