Poland’s Grzegorz Stellak graduated as an electrical technician before becoming a five-time national rowing champion and Olympic medallist. Stellak first competed at the Olympics at the 1972 München Games where he was part of the eight crew that finished in sixth place. At the 1975 World Rowing Championships in Nottingham, England, he won silver along with Ryszard Stadniuk and Ryszard Kubiak in the coxed pair. The following year he rowed in the same event at the 1976 Montréal Olympics, with the Polish team finishing in sixth place. At the 1980 Moskva Olympics Stellak won a bronze medal with a third-place finish in the coxed fours. He also rowed in the eight in Moskva where Poland finished in ninth place.
