During the 1970s Nadezhda Chernyshova represented Dynamo Moskva as a rowing coxswain. Chernyshova was a five-time Soviet champion and was part of the national squad during the second half of the decade. At the 1976 Montréal Olympics she won silver as the cox in the women’s quadruple sculls. Two years later she won bronze in the same event at the World Rowing Championships in Cambridge, New Zealand.
