Biography

Richard Kennelly rowed in prep school at St. Paul’s in New Hampshire, and then in college at Harvard, graduating in 1987 with a degree in English and American literature. Kennelly represented the USA internationally at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics, winning a silver medal in the four in 1988. He also competed in the four at the 1989 and 1991 World Championships, winning a silver medal in 1989.

Kennelly later returned to school at the University of Virginia from 1991-95, where he obtained dual degrees with a masters’ in environmental planning and a law degree. From 1997-2002 he worked for the Conservation Law Foundation where he was project director in charge of energy. From 2003-07 he was a vice-president at Seahorse Power. He was with BigBelly Solar from 2003-12, where he served as a vice-president and director of marketing. In 2012 he became chief teambuilding officer at Team Concepts, Inc, a senior executive training program.
