John Miller was on the football, water polo, and crew teams while a student at Yale, but it was at rowing that he achieved his greatest success. He rowed the 5 oar on the Yale crew that won gold at the 1924 Paris Olympics. After graduating in 1924 Miller went into building construction and real estate.
