Biography

Bill Jones played football and ran track and field in his youth, but found the most athletic success in sport shooting. A member of the Vancouver Gun Club, he reached the pinnacle of his career when he was selected to represent Canada in trap shooting at the 1960 Summer Olympics, but he was eliminated in the qualifying round. By career he worked in his family’s business (Jones Tent & Awning) and, as a deaf athlete, was involved in charities related to the care and training of guide dogs.
