Biography

Krikor Agathon competed at the Olympics in both fencing and shooting. He later became an administrator for both sports, in Egypt and France. Agathon was 1928 World Champion in rapid-fire pistol shooting. He was a member of the Egyptian shooting and fencing federation and the French shooting federation. He also served on the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and was an Egyptian delegate to both the UIT (Union Internationale de Tir) and the FIE (Fédération Internationale d’Éscrime). Agathon served as a corresponding member of the Conseil Internationale de la Chasse, and was a delegate to both the Comité Nationale des Sports au Congres and the Internationale des Journées de la Sante Publique in France. For his work in sports, he was made a chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur in France.
