Biography

Sports shooter Uto Wunderlich from East Germany competed at the 1968 Mexico City and the 1972 München Olympics. In the free rifle event he came in fourth in München as his best result. He only missed the podium because Hungarian Lajos Papp came in with the same result of 1,149 points, but had the best phase score of 394 in prone position. Wunderlich won 17 medals at the East German nationals (7-5-5).
