Biography

German trap shooter Waldemar Schanz won double trap silver medals at both the 1995 and 1997 World Championships. He also participated in three consecutive Olympics, beginning in 1996 at Atlanta. In the double trap events Schanz placed 22nd (1996), seventh (2000) and sixth (2004), and 13th in the trap event in 2000.

Schanz also won two European Championships and 55 national titles. He was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Later he became a professional self-employed trap shooting coach.
