Biography

Mario Sánchez’s two Olympic appearances were separated by 12 years, as he competed in rapid-fire pistol shooting in 1972 and 1984. Sánchez also won a bronze medal in rapid-fire pistol at the 1975 Pan American Games. In 1987 the City Council of Tecomán declared him a distinguished citizen, and the South Sports Unit of the Tecomense municipal seat was named in his honor.
