Biography

One of the best Dutch rifle shooters around the fin de siècle, Henrik Sillem won six World Championship medals between 1897 and 1901. This total includes his Olympic medal, as the Olympics doubled as World Championships. Remarkably, he won it in a pistol event. His best international performance came at the 1901 World Championships, when the Dutch free rifle team finished in second behind Switzerland.
