Biography

Brad Simmons attended Yale where he captained the Skeet and Trap Club, and in 1976, became the first US civilian shooter in 20 years to make the Olympic skeet team. He graduated from Yale in 1979 with a degree in administrative science. After college Simmons worked for EF Hutton for a few years but then entered the energy field, and became quite successful.

In 1980 Simmons joined Wells Battelstein Oil & Gas in Houston as Vice-President of Marketing. In 1982 he started Simcor Energy Corporation in Houston, an independent oil & gas properties company. This merged in 1983 to become Cottonwood Energy Development, with Simmons serving as President and CEO. In 1988 Cottonwood was acquired in a friendly takeover and Simmons went into private banking and investments. In 1992 he founded the Simmons Oil Company and Simmons Drilling Company, which was acquired in 1994 by the American Energy Group, with Simmons serving as President and CEO. Simmons later founded PetroSearch Energy and served as its CEO and President until December 2004. He then became CEO of Titan Energy.
