Biography

Barbara Evans was a breaststroker who swam at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. She also swam at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, winning a silver medal in the 4x110 yard medley relay and finishing fifth in the 220 yard breaststroke. Evans competed for the Drummoyne Swimming Club. She married Graham Sargeant, who won an Australian junior surf championship, and their daughter, Megan Sargeant-Oman, became a member of the Hockeyroos, the Australian national hockey team.
