Biography

Jan de Rooij was a successful fighter at the national level, winning 10 Dutch titles. Internationally, he did not manage to compete with the top fighters. He qualified for two Olympics (1960 and 1964), and several European Championships, but was always eliminated in the early rounds. After his career, he trained many young fighters in his native Amsterdam.
