Ralph Errington

The son of a London barrister, Ralph Errington was brought up in the wealthy Regents Park area of London, where the family home employed five servants, thus giving an indication of their wealth. Ralph was an architect by profession and designed many diving platforms in and around the London area. He joined the famous Otter Swimming Club in 1907 and was a founder member of the Highgate Diving Club in 1928. Although he competed in the 1908 London Olympics, Errington was better known for his displays of fancy diving (springboard) at galas around London and the south of England. He was also a diving judge, and served as an honorary secretary of the Amateur Diving Association. He was also an official of the Amateur Swimming Association and served on the committee of the Amateur Gymnastic Association.
