Biography

Angelika Grieser was a backstroke swimmer who was eliminated in the heats of both the 100 and 200 metres at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. With the West German medley relay squad, she was disqualified in the heats due to a false turn. From 1973-76 she won both the West German national 100 and 200 metres backstroke titles, adding another 200 title in 1979. At the 1973 Beograd World Championships she won a bronze medal in the medley relay, and at the 1974 Vienna Europeans, a silver medal. Grieser later studied psychology and moved to Saarbrücken.
