Biography

German diver Annika Walter surprisingly won the silver medal in the platform event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, beaten only by the Chinese diver Fu Mingxia. The following year she added another silver medal at the European Championships. In 1991, she was Youth European and World Champion. Walter retired after not qualifying for the 2000 Sydney Games.

Walter posed naked in the German edition of Playboy in 1996. Later she owned a small café in her hometown Rostock, and wrote a novel called “Locationwechsel” (Change of location). Later, in 2014, she founded a yoga studio and also a company analyzing artificial intelligence.
