Biography

West German swimmer Stefan Peter was a backstroke specialist. He finished fourth with the 4x100 metres medley relay squad at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, when he also placed 11th overall in the 100 metres, and 13th in the 200. With the medley relays he won two bronze medals internationally, at the 1982 World Championships and at the 1983 Europeans. In 1982 and 1983 Peter also won the 100 metres backstroke national title.
