Biography

German diver Julius Rehborn came ninth in the platform event at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. His sister Anni entered two swimming events in 1928 but did not compete, while his other sister Hanni finished sixth in the women’s platform diving event. By profession, Julius was a pool supervisor in Bochum.

Anni belonged to Adolf Hitler’s inner circle, and was the wife of Dr. Karl Brandt, one of Hitler’s personal physicians. The two married on 17 March, 1934, and the witnesses were Adolf Hitler himself, and the future General Marshal Hermann Göring. Anni became close friends with both Eva Braun and Margarete Speer, wife of Albert Speer. In 1947 Karl Brandt was tried along with 22 others at the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg. He was convicted, sentenced to death by hanging, and executed on 2 June, 1948.
