Biography

Anna Beneck swam for Società Sportiva Lazio, competing mainly in butterfly. She won the Italian 100 metre fly title in 1957-58 and 1960, also helping her club medley relay squad win national titles in 1960-62. In 1962 she won the Italian 400 IM title while in 1958 she had set the national record in that event with 6:19.7. She married the world record holder in the 400 metre hurdles, Salvatore Morale. Anna Beneck’s sister Daniela Beneck, was also a top swimmer who competed at the 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games.
