Herbert Wetter had just one podium at the Norwegian Swimming Championships, placing third in the 200 metres breaststroke in 1912. At the Stockholm Olympics, however, he competed in the 1,500 metres free but did not finish his heat. In the 1920s, Wetter travelled the country as swimming coach and teacher on behalf of the Norwegian Swimming Federation. In 1912, Herbert’s brother Ernst (born 1893) was Norwegian 200 metres breaststroke champion.
