Biography

During her career, Yelena Shubina competed at two major international tournaments. At the 1992 Olympics, Shubina was third in a B-final of the 100 freestyle, swam the last leg of the Unified Team’s 4x100 freestyle relay team that finished fourth in the final, and also swam in the preliminaries of the medley relay, but not in the final where the Unified Team won a bronze medal. At the 1993 European Championships, Shubina again reached the B-final of the 100 freestyle, placing seventh.

Personal Best: 50 m freestyle – 26.64 (1993); 100 m freestyle – 56.19 (1992).
