At the Olympics Lozik won bronze in the medley relay and was fifth in the 200 breast. In 1989 Lozik also competed at the European Championships, where he was seventh in the 200 breaststroke. In addition to his four 1988 Soviet titles, Lozik won Soviet titles in the 1987 medley relay and 1989 200 breaststroke.
