Biography

At the 1920 U.S. Final Trials, Margaret Woodbridge of the Detroit AC finished fifth in the 100m freestyle and fourth in the 300m freestyle. At the Olympics she improved in the 300m event to beat Frances Schroth and Eleanor Uhl, who had finished ahead of her at the Trials. Miss Woodbridge’s only AAU title came in the indoor 220y freestyle in 1921. She also set national records in the 200 and 500 yard freestyles. In 1989 Woodbridge was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
