Biography

Matt Cetlinski was a distance freestyler who swam for the University of Florida, graduating in 1986 with a degree in religion. Cetlinski won the 1986 500 yard freestyle and was an eight-time All-American at Florida. He won gold at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the 4x200 free relay, and at the 1987 Pan Pacific Meet in the 400 freestyle and 4x200 relay. Individually, Cetlinski just missed Olympic medals, placing fourth in both the 400 and 1,500 free in Seoul. He also earned a silver medal at the 1983 Pan American Games in the 400 free. In 1997 he was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame. Cetlinski later attended the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland, and became an acupuncturist, practicing in Gainesville. He was also licensed in massage therapy.
