Biography

Yordan Angelov was on the Bulgarian national team from 1975-82 and was captain of the 1980 Bulgarian Olympic team that won a silver medal and the 1981 European Championships team that won a bronze medal. Angelov also competed at the 1978 and 1982 World Championships and 1975, 1977 and 1979 European Championships. At the club level, Angelov played with Levski Sofia until 1983 and won the 1980 Bulgarian title with them. From 1983-84 he played with Asti Riccadonna, from 1984-85 he was with Bistefani Asti and from 1985-88 he was on SAV Bergamo, all in Italy. Angelov later worked as a volleyball coach in Italy.
