Biography

Tara Cross-Battle played college volleyball at Long Beach State. She later played indoor volleyball for the USA at four consecutive Olympics – 1992-2004, winning a bronze medal in 1992. Cross-Battle played professionally from 1992-2005 in Italy and Brazil. In Italy she played for Pallavolo Ancona (1992-95), Volley Bergamo (2001-02), and Reggio Emilia (2002-03); while in Brazil, she was with Leites Nestlé (1996-99), Paraná Vôlei Clube (1999-2000), and Flamengo (2000-01).

Internationally Cross-Battle won golds at the 1995 Canada Cup and World Grand Prix, the 2001 NORCECA Championship and World Grand Prix, and the 2003 Pan American Games. She added international silvers at the 1991 and 1993 NORCECA Championships and the 1995 Pan American Games, and bronzes at the 1992 FIVB Super Four, and the 2003 World Cup and World Grand Prix.

Cross-Battle settled in Texas where she became a volleyball coach. She worked with the Texas Tornados Volleyball Club, the Texas Pride, and the Houston Juniors Volleyball Club.
