Scott-Arruda was at every Games consecutively from 1996-2012, winning silver medals in 2008 and 2012.

As Danielle Scott, she attended Long Beach State, playing there from 1990-93, and helping the 49ers to the 1993 NCAA title. A middle blocker, she was a three-time All-American and in 1993 was named National Player of the Year. She also played basketball at Long Beach State, and was named All-Big West, becoming the first Big West player to earn all-conference honors in two sports in the same year.
