In the years after the war Egyptian water polo player Galal Abou El-Kheir represented both the Police Sports Club in Al-Qahira (Cario) and the national team. In 1951 El-Kheir was part of the squad that won silver at the Mediterranean Games in Egypt. One year later he was selected to compete in the tournament at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, playing in the group matches against the Unified Team of Germany and the Soviet Union.
