Biography

Jacques Viaene competed for the French national water polo team from 1948-55, winning a silver medal at the 1955 Mediterranean Games. He competed at the 1950 and 1954 European Championships and was capped 24 times. Viaene was assassinated on the Moutonniere Road, near Algiers, in 1962, possibly related to the Algerian War of Independence.
