Biography

Dean Willeford attended Southern Cal and played club water polo with the Phillips 66 club and the Long Beach Swim Club. He was on AAU Champion teams in 1962-63 and 1965-67, making All-American each year from 1962-68. Willeford competed at two Pan American Games, winning silver in 1963 and a gold in 1967. He was inducted into the US Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1982.

Willeford went into various forms of sales, and did quite well, starting in stocks and mortgage brokerage. He was CEO of United Publishers, a Yellow Pages company, and later formed BDS Consulting Group, which assisted small companies as start-ups and to grow. He has written multiple books on sales and entrepreneurship and serves as a consultant and speaker on these topics.
