Biography

Pete George ran up an impressive record in major competition. In addition to his Olympic record, he won five World Championships and was twice runner-up for that title. He also won two Pan American Games gold medals (1951 and 1955 both in middleweight) and was a five-time national champion. Pete George attended Kent State University and then dental school at the Ohio State University. He became a practicing orthodontist in Hawai’i and also served as a professor on the state of the Medical College of the University of Hawai’i and served a term as president of the Hawai’ian Dental Association.
