Biography

West German wrestler Gottlieb Neumair was eliminated in the third round of the Greco-Roman featherweight class at the 1960 Roma Olympics. In 1958 he finished sixth in the lightweight division at the World Championships, and in 1962 he placed tenth. Domestically he won the West German national titles in 1958 and 1962, as well as second places in 1956, 1960 (in both styles), 1963 and 1964. Neumair was the son of a butcher.
