Biography

German wrestler Ludwig Sauerhöfer from Ludwigshafen was eliminated at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics in the fourth round against Norwegian Herbrand Lofthus in the Greco-Roman lightweight class. Sauerhöfer was among the best-known wrestlers in this era. He was killed in action during World War I.
